LEB & alip : shutdown & reboot, logs out instead

Same failure mechanism on the vexpress.

Same behavior confirmed.

changing the allow_active to yes for org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop-multiple-users in /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy seem to "solve" the issue.

Yeah, this is actually a feature and not a bug (from the default case). The weird thing is that the Linaro user should still have the power to do the reboot, even if it only needed to ask the password for it, as you can see <allow_active>auth_admin_keep</allow_active> at
/usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy - org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop-multiple-users.

Last I had checked it was present upstream as well. Regardless it' fixable. I think it's a reasonable goal to fix for 11.07 if not 11.06

I read that there is no password set for linaro. Could that be the reason?

In the upstart script(openvt) is causing tty1 to be auto login and respawn. Is that purely for debugging/development?

Stopping that will also solve the shutdown/reboot issue.

We have gone back and forth if there should or should not be a pw set for the default linaro account. Currently the password is unset. I believe however this issue existed prior to going from having a password to not having a password.

There was at one time an issue where on selection of reboot or shutdown the correct action was being called. I suspect but will validate that is still the case. When logged out however selecting either reboot or shutdown works.

Validated as fixed in oneiric.
