Unity launcher prevents selecting an app tab in firefox

I have four app tabs in firefox for accessing email, calendar, etc. Every time I try to access the first tab the launcher, well, launches and prevents me from selecting this tab. I have to wait at least a second before the launcher hides. This is annoying.
