Notifications don't appear while totem is playing a song

Bug Description
Well, this sounds strange, I know, but I just noticed it. I am developing an app which displays some notifications using the libnotify library and when totem plays a song (not only is open but playing) notify doesn't display any notifications!
For example:
Action: notify-send Hello
Result: message is shown
Action: Open totem and notify-send Hello
Result: message is shown
Action: Open totem, load and play song and notify-send Hello
Result: message is NOT shown
Action: Open totem, load and play a song, pause the song and notify-send Hello
Result: message is shown
So, mainly only when totem is open and playing a song notify-send cannot send a message, not sure if this is totem's or notifyosd's bug, so I hope I am posting to the correct project!

This isn't a real bug, I think it's more a badly programmed feature.
Totem inhibits the screensaver, as configured in the options, either only when playing audio or when playing audio/video.
It seems totem inhibits notifications, too, if this feature is enabled. Currently there seems to be no way to completely disable this feature.
