Bug Description

The "Mouse and Touchpad" in "System Settings" does not enable palm detection for the touchpad. gpointing-device-settings does offer this control, however, after reboot the settings are forgotten. gpointing-device-settings still indicates that palm detection is enabled even though it is not. One has to disable then reenable palm detection for it to function.

This is on a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 with both trackpad and touchpad.
