Bug Description

Hwpack: hwpack_linaro-lt-origen_20111022-0_armel_supported.tar.gz
Image: linaro-o-ubuntu-desktop-tar-20111023-0.tar.gz

Interface doesn't work by default, as the module is not loaded automatically during boot. Once the module is loaded by hand (ath6kl), it works just fine.

The ath6kl module needs to be modprobed and then the interface should show up.

Any reason why this module is not loaded automatically?

I guess it's probably missing a MODULE_ALIAS definition, together with the platform data.

Changing the bug description to better describe the current issue we're having with the wifi driver at Ubuntu.

Even if it works fine when loading the module by hand, it should be loaded automatically instead, otherwise we'd need to create a hack to load the module by hand at the boot.

Fathi, Angus, can we move back the bug to Confirmed at the LT side?

I've created a origen-wlan package that loads the driver from /etc/modules

While I see that this is a valid workaround, I'd really like to have this bug still opened, as I believe the right fix would be for the module to be loaded automatically by the kernel.

Closing on the Ubuntu side as it's now loaded with the origen-wlan package.
