Can't ALL units gain veterancy from killing their own team?

I remember reading somewhere that the game just counts kills, not enemy kills.

No. Killing friendly/allied units doesn't count towards promotion.

(Reposting since the first attempt got posted AC.)

I suppose it's really a bug, but it's incredibly useable. It gives me the oppertunity to have a unit that promotes itself by killing survivors. Tried to use it for a P.O.W. system once.

Really, removal of this should probably be optional per warhead, so it's features aren't lost in the removal of it's buggyness.

No. This is a clear bug, killing your own units through any means should not let your units train.

If such a "feature" is wanted it needs to be logged as a separate request.

Revision comment:
Fixed issue #1266 - Seems like we can just remove the first application of veterancy and the second one will do just fine.
Related to issue #379 - removing this fix because fixing bug:1266 makes it obsolete.
