Fixed issue #794 - reenabled Urban Areas checkbox, generation works now. Generation uses the following:
Structures: CABUNK01, CABUNK02, CAARMY01, CAARMY02, CAARMY03, CAARMY04, CACHIG03, CANEWY01, CANEWY14, CANWY09, CANWY26, CANWY25, CATEXS07
Vehicles: TRUCKA, TRUCKB, COP, EUROC, SUVW, SUVB, FTRK, AMBU
Infantry: CIV1, CIV2, CIV3, CIVA, CIVB, CIVC
Customization of the list will be implemented in the future (see bug:219).
Fixed issue #796 - disabled paved road curve usage. In TS these tiles were indeed road ends, but they got repainted and the RMG wasn't updated to not use them.
Fixed issue #815 - Apparently these issues don't happen anymore.

Urban Areas work fine for me for Temperate.
For the other theatres the urban areas appear on the map but not ingame... I don't know if this is intended.
This has been discussed in other related issues... for now it has been decided that this fluke will be left for Ares 0.2.
BTW, you had this error with snow maps too? I didn't have any problems getting urban areas on snow maps, only theatre that seems to have this issue (for me) is desert.
Snow - Both minimap and ingame.
Temperate - working. Both minimap and ingame.
Desert - this time it worked on both minimap and ingame. But it seems to be random. They showed up on minimap only previous time I tried urban areas with desert.
Something I recently observed on a medium continent snow map. The urban areas appeared correctly when first generated the map and then played it immediately. However after finishing that battle and selecting to play a second game on the same map, ingame the urban areas were missing (but still on the generated minimap). I'm sure with further testing this will happen with more map types.
