Sight > 10 has no extra effect, or crashes

Bug Description

This has been mentioned in other small discussions throughout the tracker, but there was never an official issue dedicated to fixing this...

If you set a unit with Sight > 10 in rulesmd.ini, the unit will get the 10 cells of vision radius, however it will not get any extra vision after that... so Sight=14 pretty much is the same as Sight=10.

Also, as you are all aware, having a multiplier take Sight= of a unit above 10, "is a hardcode vegas crash," as described by the programmers in rulesmd.ini (this just drives home how lazy they were... they knew it was a problem and they ignored it).

H'm. Weird. I tested a Sight= value above 10 and it didn't crash; it just didn't provide any extra sight.

There are plenty of different places where sight/cellspread are used, some of them do range checking, some do not.

Just for clarification since this is filed as bug, do you only intend to fix the crash, or do you intend to increase the maximum sight, too?

Alright, since I can't vote for it on the ICS, I'll formally declare "strong support" then, my mod will have several weapons with ranges far above 10, so increased max. sight would really help me, so I hope it won't be scheduled for a too far away release when the roadmap receives its major schedule update.
