Unity2d Dash: typing name of application then pressing return does not launch application

Bug Description

12.04 Unity-2d

Steps to reproduce

1. tap Windows key
2. type an application name e.g. gedit or sudoku
3. application is first listed in the 'recent apps' line of the Unity-2d Dash home screen
4. Hit enter key
5. Application does not start

In Unity, steps 1 to 4 start the invoked application

In Unity2d, clicking on the icon starts the application

In Unity2d up until a few updates ago on 12.04, steps 1 to 4 started the application.
