Unity Dash opens very slowly when opened for the first time

Bug Description

When I open the Dash for the first time after I bootet it takes a long time until it opens. To a normal user this feels like the Computer is not responding at all.

Steps:

1) Start the computer and log in to Unity
2) open the dash either with the Super Key or clicking on the Ubuntu Logo in the Launcher
3) experience the long time it takes to open
4) open it again and you'll see that it now almost pops up instantly.

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #965492 since this bug is about taking a long time to open/show the dash and the #965492 is about taking a long time to show icons on the dash, after it is opened/shown.

I don't think this is a duplicate of [bug #965492](https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/965492). With this bug, the entire user interface becomes completely unresponsive, with no indication that anything is happening; even the *System Load Indicator* stops updating. The system is unresponsive until the Dash eventually appears. It only happens the first time the Dash is opened after a login, or resuming from a suspend.
