Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/986990/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hi. I can confirm that after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, using Gnome 3 Classic/Fallback, that while I've gotten Compiz back with this version, many programs that attempt to go fullscreen don't quite get there. For example, with EOG (Eye Of Gnome Image Viewer), the image will fill the screen until I hit the arrow key to go to the next image, where upon "fullscreen" becomes the area between the top and bottom Gnome panels (often, if I wait a few seconds, I don't even have to move on to the next image - it will just resize itself). I actually filed a bug report for EOG, but since then have observed this with Totem, SMPlayer, and a few others. I just tried it with Firefox, but it seems fine. I can confirm this does not happen when I switch back to Metacity. I've tried disabling a few Compiz plugins/features to try and isolate which one is causing this, to no avail.

OzzyFrank, please log fullscreen problems for different apps as different bugs. Each app does it differently unfortunately, so usually needs slightly different fixes.
