Hi,

i have the same Problem. Ubuntu crashes on high ethernet trafic. I tried the solution from above and also tried to set vm.min_free_kbytes = 12288 in /etc/sysctl.conf

Both didn't solve my issue.

My ubuntu version is 12.03.

Anyone has any fix for this?

Hi Thomas,

The fix that worked for me is to put vm.min_free_kbytes = 32768 in /etc/sysctl.conf. The suggested value of 16384 doesn't work.

Thanks for your reply, now it looks like its working like a charm. I uplaoded 11,1 GB. It took some time (speed was only 4,2 MB/s) but it was working for the hole file.

I even was able to remove the /etc/modprobe.d/smscnonturbo.conf and it was still working.
