Bug Description
Regardless of which patch system a package uses (or even perhaps no patch system at all), it would be really nice if we could just use looms and have the udd machinery hide all the patch system craziness from me. This probably means automatically importing the patches into a stack of loom threads on import, and exporting them to the appropriate patch system on commit. Or something like that ;)
See also bug 608305 and bug 608675 for possibly related bugs. This one might be more expansive though since it should really help regardless of patch system, and even make it easy when there is no patch system currently in place. In the latter case, it would be fine to just use 3.0 quilts. :)
