I guess easy_install should be configured to gram http://launchpad.net/bzr/1.18/1.18rc1/+download/bzr-1.18rc1-1.win32-py2.5.exe or alike for windows.

I wanted to use easy_install to get a binary version on my computer. No compliing etc.

It's a reasonable thing to want. It probably means we must put a
bdist of Bazaar into pypi.

It not only affects Windows, I just failed to build from source (with ./setup.py build_ext ) with bzr.dev

After grabbing the zlib1g-dev package I succeeded building bazaar C extensions. My apologies for the false alarm
