Bug Description
This is not a bug, but it did take me a while to get to the root cause. The base image that I was given to use happened to have bind9 running, which of course conflicted with LXD. While I did see some tips on different support forums about checking for dnsmasq, I completely forgot about bind9 being an alternate.
Suggestion to add a pre-flight checklist which includes simple mistakes like having any DNS server running.
