Bug Description

There's no package beyond the PPA package for Trusty for repcached, and it looks like the source is no longer being maintained. Given that, the support for this in the charm should be removed to avoid confusion.

This issue stuck for a while, it won't impact anything if we still support it.
Therefore, we decide to close this issue.

Reopening because the code cleanup idea is still valid. On the other hand, it is true that that dead piece of code isn't causing problems at the moment so it remains at a very low priority.
