I accidentally mistyped "exit" in the Russian keyboard layout. This was the result:

I ran into the same problem with Simplified Chinese and filed the bug 839609. Today I found a resolution. It's really a hack; best if the developers can critique it. I've updated 839609 with details about my changes.
Can you confirm this works in your case too?
