@Tri, this is a request for a new test for the dropping letters game. The game is written in qml and it runs on the desktop or phablet devices.

The test needs to check and ensure the linked bug doesn't occur; namely that all conditions in which a game should end happen correctly. There is already an autopilot testsuite that can be expanded by adding this test.

"all conditions in which a game should end" should be clarified if someone is to work this bug effectively. There needs to be a test to verify that the game is declared over, but in addition to that there needs to be a test or portion of a test to verify that the user can not interact with the "dropped letters" once the game has ended. That should be fixed by lp:1196867.

Game is over when at least one column reaches the top row. At the moment, I don't see a way to otherwise quit or end the game.

Further, once the game is ended:

You should not be able to interact any further with the gameboard
No more letters should appear
The score should be set and unchanged
The column causing the game to end should turn red
An alarm sounds
The homescreen reappears

In our autopilot test, we may or may not be able to check for all of these things, but we can certainly verify a few of them. Since the game only ends one way atm, we also don't need multiple scenarios for game ending.

Whomever takes on this bug should be able to watch the column height, confirm it should lose the game, and then confirm the homescreen reappears / you cannot interact with your old game any further.

In my previous comment I intended to specify that there is only one way I know of to end the game. My sentence should read " At the moment, I don't see another way to otherwise quit or end the game." :-)
