Selection area and recording is black

Bug Description

If the "record only part of the screen" check box is checked the selection area pops up black. Every thing underneath it is not visible and the selected area records black.

If this check box is not checked the full screen will record properly.

Eidete was working fine up until the last system update (jan/10/2012).

System:
xubuntu 11.10

It should record fine now. I disabled the red border on noncomposited desktop managers, could you please test if it's working properly?

Could you run rev45 or higher and see if "Compositing is not supported. No transparency available." is printed in the console on startup?

I did not have composting enabled :X

Maybe you could build in a composting warning into the GUI or not allow selection area of composting is not available.
