Bug Description

The ITime Control shows an (seemingly) incorrect ID in the shell. In the shell it shows up as 'ITime:5oak91gpdt1dyiepbqmn48plp-2', but the error "No Control could be found for interface ITime:5oak91gpdt1dyiepbqmn48plp-2" is shown as soon as I try to run my a desklet using this ID. The ID 'ITime:9y703dqtfnv4w373caserz68r' works perfectly fine.

This seems to be the only Control affected. I've written a new one and it's ID shows up correctly; additionally, the ICalendar ID seems to be correct.

Strange thing... here the ID 5oak... is working perfectly fine.
Maybe there are several versions of ITime installed ?
Maybe deleting the registry and restarting gdesklets might help ?!

It happens on 2 different installations on 2 different computers. gDesklets itself seems to work fine, but actually using the control in a desklet does not. By "working perfectly fine" do you mean you've tried using the 5oak... ID in a desklet?

Well... just found out that most of the desklets I am using here are still using the old ID (9y70...), BUT the Gauge-IB-21E desklet uses the new ID (5oak...) and is running fine without any problems.

Any news or more information on this one ?
I cannot reproduce the bug on my computers here.

I think it might be a gentoo issue, but I'm not sure how to resolve it. I don't know how it could be, but after investigating this issue on a Fedora Core 10 machine it doesn't show up (I get your results - both IDs work). I think it's still an issue, but no news here.

No news...I'll have to create a dummy desklet to test it out each time you ask ;)
Seriously, give me a week or so then bug me again...

I re-installed and it looks like I can't make it happen again. I'll mark it as incomplete (unless there's a better way to mark it as "unknown status").

Changed in gdesklets:
