Clicking on appindicator icon doesn't show anything on Lucid Lynx

Bug Description
I am trying to use Glipper 2.1 on fully updated Lucid Lynx (10.04) x86_64 on a Core2Duo laptop. Clicking on the appindicator icon doesn't show the Glipper menu. The only way to bring up the menu is using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+C).
I am using the Faenza icon theme, but I don't think that is related to the issue.
