Bug Description

This is more a wish than a bug report, I hope you don't mind. I'm checking the progress of the new icon theme and I have to say the green new-message indicator icon looks good and is much more visible than the older monochrome one; my only problem with it is that green is not a terrific choice for notification. In every piece of software I can think of the color for this type of notification is in the range between yellow and red. Green isn't really used anywhere in the default ubuntu theme and it seems out of place.

I suppose you think red is "scary" for the user because it looks like an error, but to me it means "hey, you should look here because something important just happened", and synchronous communication (like IM) needs this kind of urgency.

Actually, the green used for the new mail is the same green used every where in the system ;) [programming icon , the add icon , the + new in the new folder/file/tab, IM available ]
yellow might be a bit too bold. But I might try it at some point.
