2009-08-08 16:33:25 arnau description This is a very annoying and long standing bug (from at least two ubuntu releases ago), that it could be easily fixed. I hope that it can get some attention from Paper Cuts side. When creating a new share with Nautilus once you create a Public folder you cannot edit any of the contents created by guest users. The files will have ownership set to user "nobody" and group "nogroup", making it imposible to delete or modify by the user who created the share folder. Of course that from command line you can change that, but it is very annoying having to change permissions from command line, before being able to edit any file on the sharing folder. Also this is a security issue as a guest user can fill up your hard drive with junk and the owner of the share won't be able to delete it or move it (easily of course). This bug is already triaged from long time ago in (but it seems that nobody is working on it) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/268663 This is a very annoying and long standing bug (from at least two ubuntu releases ago), that it could be easily fixed.
