perpendicular and/or tangential snap message, while cursor close to first node

Open the attached file
with tangential, perpendicular and path snapping turned on,
select the draw bezier curves tool,

Click on the straight line to set the first node,
while the cursor is moving close to the node,
the snap message says:
"Handle to path (perpendicular)"
(if perpendicular snapping is turned off then
it just snaps normally to the path,
as if there is no node on it)
right click to cancel path drawing.

Set a new node on the edge of the circle,
while the cursor is over the node,
then the snap message says:
(with both perp and tan,
or just perp snapping turned on)
"Handle to path (perpendicular)",

(with just tan snapping)
"Handle to path (tangential)"

as soon as the cursor is moved outside
the node but within snapping distance of the node,
then the message changes to:
(with both perp and tan or
just tan snapping turned on)
"Handle to path (tangential)".

(with just perp snapping)
"Handle to path (perpendicular)"

right click to cancel path drawing.

When placing a node on the curved path
and keeping the cursor near the node,
then the snap message usually shows ...tangential
but sometimes either the top and bottom or
the left and right half of the node
shows perpendicular and the other half shows
the tangential snap message.

Tested with:
r12848 on linux mint 15 cinnamon 32bit
