copying logo from one file to another causes it to become pixelated

Bug Description

I have the latest version of inkscape for Mac and am running it on OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)

I have grouped elements from several logos, copied them and pasted in place in a new file - so they can be viewed side by side.
This has left the logos looking very pixelated and has added an outline stroke to the text of the right hand logo which does not exist in the original file. If these are vector and not bitmap images I can't understand why this would be happening!

In other cases logos have lost lines, changed font colours etc.

I have attached several files - a couple that I took the logo samples from and one called 'compiled logos that I copied them to.

Good luck with this weird one!

The problem with pasting copied vector objects in Inkscape on Mac OS X exists since Inkscape 0.47 which introduced support for the system-wide clipboard, and is due to a known upstream conflict with the pasteboard syncing in X11/Xquartz:
Copied vector objects are pasted as bitmap copies, and no vector information (style, path) is provided in other commands expecting vector data from the clipboard (paste style, paste size, 'Shape: from clipboard' in pencil/pen tools, 'Paste path' in the path effect editor, etc.)

Please adjust the X11 preferences for the pasteboard as described in the FAQ
<http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Copying_and_pasting_in_Inkscape_creates_pixellated_images_instead_of_copying_the_vector_objects>
and as seen in this screenshot:
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/307005/+attachment/1760181/+files/X11-pasteboard-preferences.png>

The changes take effect immediately (no need to restart X11/XQuartz or Inkscape, however, earlier copy&pasted objects have to be redone (if the original vector version still exists).

You would have found the answer as well as the existing bug report among the top results of a simple web search btw.

The pasted bitmaps are generated by Inkscape's 'Cairo PNG' output format, which only supports a smaller set of Inkscape and SVG features, and was originally implemented as test format for cairo-based exports.

I tried searching on launchpad but nothing came up related - I will try Google next time! Thanks.
