Bug Description

Spin buttons fail to response, and numbers disappear. This happens when choosing an object or switch to a tab the second time.

AFAICT the same issue as tracked in

Linking as duplicate to bug #999422 - please add a comment here (bug #1298759) and revert the duplicate status if you disagree, or if the text in spinbox entries disappears independent of the system's locale configuration.
