Bug Description
Hello.
I saw that when saving a svg in inkscape format or in simplified svg there is a presence of obsolete or "rubbish" code in it.
Examples:
a)
- Insert an image and create a new layer for trace it by hand.
- Finish design and delete the layer containing the image
- open svg in Gedit and find <image> empty image tags.
b)
- type a text
- convert object to path
- save svg and open in gedit
there is still references to the font style and text properties.
Tested on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48.5 and trunk rev. 13836.
a) Not reproduced. The layer and all its content are correctly removed from the file.
b) I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature. Keeping text and font data is very useful if someone needs to modify the converted text. It is then possible to use the same original font and text attributes to be sure the new path is consistent with the old one.
Could you please give details on your OS and Inkscape version, and attach an example SVG file showing the image element?
