Adding a new filter from the Filter menu with filter editor open inserts into filter currently being edited

In the forum at inkscapeforum.com, user Espermaschine reported this issue (I can confirm it's happening for me, too):

When you have the filter editor open, and a filter selected as if to edit it, and then add another filter to the object via the Filter menu, the new filter is added into the one that is being edited.

Not sure, but could this be related to
