Could you please give details on the disappearing attributes? I'm trying to test with some simple steps, but I don't manage to reproduce the bug on Xubuntu 16.04, with lp:inkscape rev. 15485.

Steps to reproduce:
1) launch inkscape trunk (default new prefs, default new document)
2) create a simple text
3) select the text, change the fill color to 'red'
4) convert text to path (Shift+Ctrl+C)
5) ungroup

Expected result:
The ungrouped paths retain at least the same fill color on ungroup.

Actual result:
The style property of the ungrouped paths only contains a default stroke width (the length of 1 CSS px converted to SVG user units). The fill color is unset (renders with solid black fill).
Before the merge of the style dialog, the paths inherited the full list of style properties from the group (which included all font-related style properties, as well as other style properies like fill color etc.).

Not reproduced with lp:inkscape r15497 on Ubuntu 14.04 - seems one of the recent commits fixed this. @ivan - can you confirm?
