Auto-updated, visible timestamps in drawings

Bug Description

Hi,

I would like to be able to somehow visibly timestamp my
drawings.
I sometimes test-print these, and if I have several
versions around,
it would be nice if I could see which one was the most
recent.

I imagine the timestamp in a small text box in a corner
(that I could place there myself if I wanted), but it
should
be automatically updated whenever I save the document.

Cheers,
  Colin

although applications like Abiword have fields that show the
current date/time (and other variables) adding XML for this
to the file format seems quite a bit beyond SVG.

what might work well would be a bit of Perl scripting
to add a text block to the SVG at the specified cooridinates
containing the date last modified
if you asked nicely on the developer mailing list one of the
developers might be willing to help you out.

a better bet might be for the printer to optionally include
the filename and timestamp in the margins

On windows, and probably on linux too, files store modified
dates/times. We could just use that. At some point a new
print dialog will probably be created to accomodate this and
other printing related features (such as tiling).
