Keep a history of selections with back/forward

Bug Description

In GIMP, when you deselect an object by clicking
elsewhere, it's considered an action and the previous
selection can be easily restored using the Undo
command. It would be nice if Inkscape had an option to
behave the same way.

This is mostly a function of laziness, but would be a
useful time-saver if you accidentally (or
intentionally- sometimes the selection boxes get in the
way of assessing the image as a whole) deselect several
objects quick-grouped with the Shift key.

Also, when losing selection in this manner, one could easily use Undo by mistake to get it back, and possibly end up losing an action.

I can't say whether "Undo" is the best way achieve it, but "a history of selections, with back/forward" would be so very helpful. See my related new feature/wish list "bug" report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/695940.

Working with very small objects/paths, it is hard to see what effects your changes have on the image at 100% zoom. So select back/forward, reselect last selected, or optionally removing arrows from selection cue, or anything like that, would be helpful indeed!

(Meanwhile, note the Q-key zoom feature (if you're not already aware). Info here: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5690. Often helpful, until such a new feature can be achieved.)

Thanks for listening :-)
