Import all pages from a PDF in one go

On Windows XP with Inkscape 0.47 when importing an PDF with many pages it would be a great improvement if all pages could be imported at once as...

1.) separate objects, below each other
2.) separate objects, beside each other
2.) separate objects in a grid (most common will be a two column layout when designing a brochure)

Thanks for the great work on Inkscape! This is only a minor suggestion.
