Bug Description
Hi,
I want to propose a new feature. I'm often working on a Inkscape-svg file but need a eps file in the end. So I save the file as eps. But if a make a change right after and save the file using Ctrl+S, Inkscape of course saves the file as eps. To save the "source" of the file it would be a pretty good feature to save any file as Inkscape-svg too or even define two filetype for saving.
Thx

Having the possibility to save the same file in two formats at the same time would be really useful to me too, as all my documents become PDFs at the end but I keep the originals in SVG to retain all Inkscape's options in case of future modifications.
Anyway, I would recommend using the "Save a copy..." option to save a document in a different format, so the file in the final format is created while keeping the SVG open in the Inskcape window (hence if you "Save" after, the SVG is saved). It does even have a shortcut: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-S.
Related to this, I'd refresh a request already reported: the "File name" field should be filled with the current file name, so when you select the new format the extension is automatically changed to reflect the choice and you just have to hit "Save".
Better if Inkscape could remember the last format used for this: I'd only have to do Shift-Ctrl-Alt-S immediatly followed by Enter to "publish" my document in PDF.
Regards.
