Partial printing on Brother HL-1440 under WinXP

Bug Description

I am having trouble printing to my Brother HL-1440 (basically, a PCL based printer) under WinXP. Typically, only a few portions of lines get printed. For instance, I just tried to print a drawing that had 14 lines, and I got two lines, roughly in the right place for one of the parts of the drawing, but too short.

I have to print by exporting to PDF and using a PDF viewer to print, which is doable, but it would be nice to eliminate that step from the workflow.

I forgot to say that I just tried this with 0.48.2, but the issue has been there with a few preceding versions. I have a vague recollection that it might have worked once, but I can't swear to that.

Did you check the paper size used for printing in the print dialog?

Yeah, for some reason the printer's page size was set to "custom" instead of the "letter" that the svg file was at.

Seems to me that Inkscape should by default set the printer's page size to whatever page size the drawing uses.
