Bug Description

On mac when copying or cutting + paste, the shape is not copied as a shape but a new image

when duplicationg with space bar, it doesn't happen (be carefull : 0.48.2 to confirm with newer)

This refers to using Inkscape on Mac OS X, under X11?

Please test the workaround as described in the FAQ:
<http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Copying_and_pasting_in_Inkscape_creates_pixellated_images_instead_of_copying_the_vector_objects>
and change the X11 settings as shown in this screenshot:

Based on feedback provided on #inkscape (irc):
|12:46| < pygmee|work> yep, paste problem solved after modifying X11 prefs. This is confusing anyway

linking this report as duplicate to bug #307005 - please add a comment here and revert the duplicate status if you don't agree and think these are different issues.
