Instance ID shows hostname instead of cloud provider ID

Bug Description

When using MAAS as a cloud backend Juju reports the hostname of the machine instead of the instance ID.

In LXD the instance ID is the cloud provider ID:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/VNgSZ4ywC7/
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/yGgtzPWZNJ/

In AWS the instance ID is the cloud provider one:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/638mBpqxYf/

But in MAAS, the instance ID is the hostname of the machines:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/hb249Nv6jC/
Also see the attached screenshot.

Can we display the instance ID instead of the hostname when using the MAAS provider, as in the other providers?

Thanks!

This should be possible but will probably require some work to handle state upgrade.
