Maverick clients defaulting to ipv6 hostname

Please attach:
- /etc/hosts
- /etc/hostname
- output of hostname
- output of hostname -f

So I have the same problem, it seems to be related to network-manager. See bug #663597 and #645648. I'm not exactly sure how to workaround it.

This package has been in karmic-proposed for some time without verification. I removed it as karmic is end-of-life now.

Verified fixed in the lucid and maverick packages currently in proposed:

    interface was removed (and its kernel module removed as well) and
