Bug Description
Launchpad could benefit from a number of formatting tags. Rather than ask for an entire markup spec, I'd like a minimal BLOCKQUOTE or CODE type tag that would be a huge benefit, given that many discussions involve code examples.
I am aware that launchpad allows text files to be attached to bug reports, which is an effective means of distributing code, but not an effective means of discussing code.
For example, if I wanted to suggest three options for a one-line patch, I could upload three separate patch files and make a comment about them, Then readers would have to scroll through the report to find the link to the patch files, download them, go back to the report to read my comments, etc etc. Another option would be to upload a single text file with three patches inside, which again readers would have to scroll through the report to find, download, additionally copy and paste to individual patch files, and come back to the report numerous times.
Rather, If I could make a comment like:
_______
Comment #2600:
I had these ideas for what to do:
Option 1:
some monospaced code
Option 2:
some different monospaced code
Option 3:
some other monospaced code
_______
I know launchpad also has a pretty narrow wraparound and the comments also get mailed out, so the tag would need to be something small and human-readable for email (assuming it wouldn't be filtered out), and launchpad itself would need scrollable boxes (because auto-indentation could be messy).
