Unable to upload a large file to a project milestone release

Bug Description

I'm trying to upload a large (~726MB) .qcow2 file to my project's release milestone (https://launchpad.net/nemos/lunar/nemos-cycle2/) but Launchpad seems to be timing out and the upload fails with "Uh oh! Something has gone wrong."

Our user documentation mentions that we support up to 1 GiB

Hi Jürgen,

Sorry for the late reply. We've switched to using GitHub for our releases as the VM image files are now over 1GiB, so this isn't a pressing issue for us anymore.

That said, I just tried to upload a 500MiB file and go the same failure, so:

yes :)

It means that we cannot provide a release of our project to our customers via Launchpad. Currently, this isn't a big issue as our images are now going over the 1 GiB file limit anyway.

Yes - unfortunately it means skipping Launchpad entirely and using GitHub.
