Bug Description
Imagine you're working on fixing a specific bug in a bug task, one that already has lots of comments and attachments. Then, suddenly, one of these ubuntu monkeys in the world get this bug too, and it orders apport to generate a new bug. Then, suddenly, more ubuntu slaves also begin using apport to spam LP with duplicates.
So this gives me 1 bug that is being tracked and has lots of comments and attachments. + 1 apport bug, + many duplicates of the first apport bug. Now, this leave me with several options:
- abandon the first bug, making it a duplicate of the first bug generated by lame apport (it doesn't even paste the traceback in the description field!)
- make all the apport bugs a duplicate of the first bug (the one that was being tracked and has lots of comments and attachments)
- make the first bug generated by apport a duplicate of the very first bug (the one that was being tracked..) This would mean a chain/tree of duplicates
nr. 3 is not possible but would be the one that I want.
nr. 2 is only possible with lots of efforts.
nr. 1 is possible but extremely lame
So please fix this (nr. 3 or nr. 2 without having to spend a whole morning/evening clicking to change the bug ids the duplicates are duplicates of) in the next version of launchpad.
