Bug Description
When uploading an already-cropped picture, libravatar.org insists on cropping it nevertheless (otherwise, the picture shows up as just a question mark in a dashed line).
Furthermore, anigifs are destroyed, which is, I believe, also a result of the cropping. “Destroyed” here means: only the first frame is taken (instead of all frames to be the animation), and it’s upscaled from the original 50x50 to whatever the website insists on using (64x64 mayhaps).

You should be able to mostly avoid the cropping by not drawing a border and clicking the crop button directly.
The "destruction" of the animated gif probably comes from running the gif through gifsicle: https:/ /bazaar. launchpad. net/~libravatar /libravatar/ master/ view/head: /libravatar/ cropresize. py#L141
Reading the manpage, I'm not exactly sure what we need to change to preserve the animation.
