 using -mno-unaligned-access flag actually solves the problem..in my tree also..

Ronay has tested the binary from both the CI loop (build #60) and the package.
He's able to boot with both. Source code and binary generated are correct.

It seems an issue at the hwpack/image creation.

Ok, Rony do you have a link to instructions on how I can hand craft a working image so I can figure out what is wrong with the tool generated image?

I checked the HW pack with u-boot too and it is not booting.the command used is. linaro-media-create --image-file nano-origen.img --dev origen --binary linaro-precise-nano-20120927-424.tar.gz --hwpack hwpack_linaro-leb-origen_20120927-374_armhf_supported.tar.gz --bootloader u-boot

Looking at that boot log, this isn't the "-mno-unaligned-access" problem. This is code catching an error and ASSERTing. The unaligned access problem is a hard crash.

As for instructions used to hand-craft a build, Rony's UEFI wiki page (Fathi's link [1]) will build it, as will the instructions on my GIT page [2] or the script in the CI job [3].

I looked at the Makefile for the packaging job in [4], it looks like it's building in the correct way also, but I haven't tried it.

So this leaves me back with the suspicion about the toolchain. For reference, this is what I see from GCC:

$ arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc -v
[snip]
gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5)

Ryan,A handcrafted SD card with the uefi binary avilable in http://snapshots.linaro.org/components/kernel/uefi can boot the kernel. So,I don't feel it is a tools issue.

See my comment #10,the HW pack using the u-boot also doesen't work.

Rony,
The binary in snapshots.l.o and the hwpack are built in different ways, on different machines, so it's not a direct comparison, I'm afraid.
How about if you take the UEFI binary off the SD card created using the hwpack and add it to your hand crafted SD card? Does it fail in the same way or does it work?
It could be the way that the bootloader binaries are copied to the SD card that is the problem...

John Rigby (jcrigby): Did you try using the Origen image again for l-m-c as there has been some updates in the time being.
