Bug Description

Chromium Version 52.0.2743.116 Built on Ubuntu, running on LinuxMint 17.3 (64-bit)

After the update of Chromum a few minutes ago, it doesn't find my Chromecast Device anymore.
Restart of Chromium didn't help, restart of the whole laptop didn't help.
Before the update, it worked flawlessly. Click on the Chromecasticon, selecting my Chromecastdevice and it worked. Streaming the browsertabs, the desktop or using it with youtube from within chromium worked perfectly. Now, chromium can't find any chromecast.

Other compter here and my smartphone still can stream to my Chromecast without problems.

Found the probably related bugreport:

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=623290

so now installed Google Chrome with the by Google themselves provided dpkg-file from their Google Chrome Website (which is Version 53.0.2785.92 (64-bit)), the chromecast-functionality is now working fully functional again.

I am using the 53.0.2785.143 64-bit version from the Update Manager (not the Google site) which I installed yesterday (11-19-16). It does not find the Chromecast; the symptoms are the same as the OP's. There are some reports of the newest version on the Google site, 54.0.2840.100, working correctly.
