Bug Description

I use kmail under XFCE with 9 mail accounts configured. When I open kmail, it is very responsive. Then I open 3 tabs with the INBOX of three of my accounts and the UI starts to go really slow. I can see that the process is using more than 50% of the CPU. This last for around 1 minute and happens from time to time, making the user experience really painful. The IMAP folders I am opening have more than 2000 messages each.
I think that this problem didn't appear when I fresh installed Mint 9. The number of messages has increased only slightly since then.
I have recorded a stack trace using gdb which I attach.
 Regards.

Also important to note is that iotop reports a big DISK READ activity by kmail. Looking at the backtrace, it seems to be related to some search done in my local folders. I have around 500 folders, with a total size of 1.7Gb. The strange thing is that this workload was handled absolutely fine by kmail before.

I am using now Linux 13 with Kmail 4.8.5 and the problem seems to have gone away.
 Thank you!
