We have made the call for nomination but we don't get enough nominations. So we can't do an election for the LoCo council. We have decided that we build a committee to analyse the situation of the LoCos and which should make suggestions how we deal with that.

We have also discussed the idea of taking on the responsibility of verifying LoCos ourselves (i.e. the CC) during this transition period. I have added the CC to the LC's mailing list so that whenever the list is contacted, we will get a notification.

Additionally, everyone should be sure to subscribe to the LoCo agenda:

A few applications have already been received. Thank you very much for that. We decided in our last meeting of the Ubuntu Community Council that the deadline for applications would be extended by two weeks so that more applications can be received for this important topic.

Nominations are still open and will close on Saturday, February 6, 2021 23:59 UTC. After that, the Community Council will review the submissions and appoint the Local Communities Research Committee.
