Bug Description

Intel VROC is Software RAID solution. One of the feature is to allow user to install OS on RAID array.
In terms of this to be working - mdadm needs to be installed on such system.

I can see that mdadm deb package is missing on Live-installer ISO.
If mdadm not installed, OS will not be able to boot from RAID array.
If it is not on ISO - it will not be possible to install ubuntu without internet access.

Currently this issue is blocked by other defect:

mdadm definitely is installed in the installer's live environment. Why do you think it is not? (It's not part of the apt repository at /pool on the ISO because it is already installed in filesystem.squashfs)

I think the ultimate issue is that users cannot install to VROC volumes using Subiquity, and not finding a deb for mdadm may be a bit of a red herring.

Set back to Incomplete. I presume Pawel should comment on this so we can sort out what the actuall issue is.

I can confirm that this issue is invalid, we expected that livecd will contain mdadm deb packet when in fact it was a part of squashfs, not /pool. This issue can be closed.
The actual issue, as Jeff already mentioned is that users cannot install OS to VROC volumes using Subiquity.

Thanks for confirming. Hopefully there will be progress on VROC at some point (can I contact you for pre-release testing of it?)
