Open system settings, select color. Select a color profile. With X, the change was live. With XMir, the profile is not applied.

Huh. This shouldn't work *at all*; it's one of the bits of XRandR that is not yet implemented. Does it really apply a colour profile? If so, I don't actually know how it's doing it ☺

Well the colors looked garish and horrible when I first selected the color profile. Then I rebooted and they looked less terrible. I assumed that is because of the color profile but it could have been caused by something else.

I think the profile is not applied at all. At least it is not on my system. ==> changing the description

XMir is not a thing any more. But certainly we would like colour profiles for Unity8 eventually.
