Bug Description

Hi, when you are in the "Artists" view, and you click one, you can see his albums. That's good, and nothing to complain about, but I think that there should be as well the opportunity to view all the artist's songs list under the albums area. This would be great for these examples of situations:

1) Very often you want to see, for example, all the ACDC songs you have at a glance, to play one, but you have to go album by album instead.

2) It would be also useful when you're searching one single song and you don't know what album it is in. It happens many times with bands like The Beatles, who have lots of albums. And the "Songs" view is not a solution here as there might be too many songs and artists in the phone and it takes much longer to look for a song.

3) When you want to make a playlist, and want to add the best songs from some artists (for a music festival, for example) currently you have to go album by album, while it would be better to select them from a single list.

So I think it would be great to have this. And I guess it shouldn't be too tricky to make. Just adding the full artist songs list under the albums. Thank you!!!

Thanks for taking the time to file this feature request and make Ubuntu better, Pablo! I agree that this might be a nice feature. We'll try to talk with the design team to get their opinion.

Sorry Victor but, does this last change you've introduced mean that you will replace the albums with the songs? I mean, the albums actually look quite nice where they are, and allow you to play a single album. I just asked for adding the songs under them.
Anyway it's up to you guys, obviously ;)

I see! Sorry, I misinterpreted what you wanted. IMHO it'd make more sense to be able to switch between both "views", rather then having all the songs under the albums. I envisioned using the Header sections to have an "Albums" and "Songs" toggle, similar to this [1] which has "Full view" and "Queue". We can see what the Design team thinks of this.

Hi Victor, I actually like your idea now I've seen the mockup. I attach a mockup i've made, with some changes. I think the toggle would do better under the artist's pic, since it would be just above the albums or songs. Indeed, if the design team decided to move the artist name to the top, a lot of space would be put into good use. I also changed a little bit the colour behaviour of the toggle, added the number of albums and songs, and put in grey the album each song belongs to, instead of the artist (which is what currently appears when you see a song list).
