Bug Description

Trying to export youtube-hd video causes dialog:

The following formats/codecs are missing from your system:

libx264
libmp3lame

You will not be able to use the selected export profile. You will need to install the missing formats/codecs or choose a different export profile.

I have libx264-98 2:0.98.165+git and libmp3lame0 3.98.4-0ubuntu1 installed.

Ubuntu 10.10 x86_32 and OpenShot 1.2.2

You need an un-encumbered version of the ffmpeg libraries to use x264/mp3 - have you got libavformat-extra-52 installed?

I didn't have it installed. OpenShot package should either depend on it, or the error message should ask to install that specific package. Otherwise user cannot know what is wrong.

First time i tried exporting youtube-hd video OpenShot crashed. Log is attached.

On second time doing the same export was finally successful!

I had the exact same bug with Linux Mint 10 (based upon ubuntu), similarly resolved by installing libavformat-extra-52, and I agree with Ville Ranki: either dependency, or pointing the user towards the right package, and not packages which are already installed on the system.

Hi,
Normally, you have a message error which display the dependencies missing and a direct link for knowing how to install it and which one.
Anyway and actually, I am working on a tool who will help the user to know which are installed or not.
But that's right that could be not clear for the user.
