Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code

I have a hunch with no current way to prove it that this is actually a bug in the Debian/Ubuntu postgres 9.1 package. We corrected the bulk of our dpkg errors which were related to running system updates during a devstack run. And now postgres seems to be the only package that hits this problem. So I think this is a package bug.
